The Everest Biodiesel Company Pvt Ltd is committed to the development of Jatrophaas an alternative, renewable and sustainable energy in Nepal. It is established through joint efforts of Nepali entrepreneurs and experienced professionals in the field of energy. The company has a headquarter in Kathmandu and it has processing factory, Jatropha research, germplasm collection and breeding center in Kurintar 5 km east from Manakamana Cable Car station adjacent to Prithvi Highway. The company has been focused on seed of Jatropha curcas as a feedstock of biodiesel. Its seeds produce 30-48 % oil content. Jatropha, therefore is commonly called as biodiesel plant.

In Nepal, naturally grown population of Jatropha is not enough to sustain commercial production of biodiesel so Jatropha curcas is being planted in the different parts of country by creating and mobilizing Jatropha cultivation group to produce seeds for processing of biodiesel. We, Everest Biodiesel Company intend to focus plantation of Jatropha in the degraded land that will reduce the green house gas emissions and create major carbon sink. As a clean, renewable and sustainable form of energy it will creates numerous business opportunities. Biodiesel is renewable liquid fuel that can help to reduce the countries dependence on foreign oil imports. If government of Nepal could pay special attention to Jatropha system it is going to be one of the largest industries in Nepal which will reduce the flow of Nepali laborers in search of job in the gulf countries. Jatropha can be grown inter-copping with other herbal crops like, Lemon grass, Citronella, Pamarosa, Sepagandha, etc and other spices crops like turmeric and zinger. Thus benefits from Jatropha can be doubled by inter-cropping Jatropha with other crops.
